Phoenix of New Orleans (PNOLA)
is a federally recognized 501(c) 3 non-profit organization devoted to the rebuilding and recovery effort of the Lower Mid-City neighborhood in Orleans Parish. What was once a working-class neighborhood with thriving churches, schools, small and large businesses is now a community struggling to overcome unemployment, poverty, and the devastation rendered by Hurricane Katrina.
Where We Rebuild:
PNOLA’s projects occur primarily within the Lower-Mid City district of the 70119 area code. While preference is given to Lower-Mid City homeowners we will work in the surrounding neighborhoods. Cultural Vistas recently featured an article about the history of Lower Mid-City. Read about the neighborhood that we work in!
