Jim Coningsby, Director of Program Development

Jim was raised in Mechanicsville, VA and moved to New Orleans to attend Tulane University. Little did he know that in his sophomore year, Hurricane Katrina was going to provide an opportunity for him to become involved in rebuilding the communities that attracted him to the city. In 2005, he created a rebuilding assistance program called Student Advocacy for Equitable Recovery (SAFER). More recently SAFER has merged with PNOLA in an effort to expand the services available to community.

Ryan Porcelli, Executive Director

Originally from Cambridge, Mass., Ryan came to New Orleans in 2001 to attend Tulane University. After graduation in May 2005, he moved to California to work construction and to take some time to figure out what direction it was that he wanted to go in life. Three months later, when Hurricane Katrina hit, it became clear to him that he should move back to NOLA and do anything possible to help heal the city he loved so much. He has been working with PNOLA for the last two years with the recovery effort.
